The Chief Financial Officer of Verizon Communications – Fran Shammo provided some interesting info about the release of iPhone 5. According to him, Verizon and AT&T will get the iPhone 5 at the same time. Therefore, there will be no delay in the launching just to accommodate AT&T and no delay for Verizon Wireless to get the iPhone working in their network.

At the release of iPhone 4s, Shammo explained what he felt about getting a good percentage in iPhone 4s sales but less than what analysts have expected. He stated that he was happy with the result of selling “a six-month old iPhone” considering the fact that the phone was not a global version. He further stated that they will get the new device at the same time that AT&T does.
In his statement, he said that the next iPhone is a global device which is a juicy tidbit of information about the release of iPhone 5. As to the specs of the new iPhone, the executive didn’t have much information about it either. When he was asked what he has to say about whether the iPhone 5 is 4G LTE device, he has nothing much to say except that it would be a bigger issue for Apple Inc than it is for Verizon Wireless.
The heated discussion around iPhone 5 seem to be growing each day as more and more people are giving us bits and pieces of what to expect. It is not a surprise that both carriers will get the device at the same time but Verizon Wireless releasing such statement is. Usually, Apple Inc withholds pretty much 90% of information from consumers while giving out 10% for people to discuss and talk. Shammo may have been speculating but speaking it out loud adds some weight to the speculation.
